Hello, May I ask if Lena ever sang I'm going to knock on your door? I'm not able to find it on youtube.

I have always been a fan of Lenas but have only just found this site which is a wonderful place. When i come on and just brouse through i feel that Lena is still with us watching over us all. We lost such a wonderfull person, performer that she will always live on in us all in some way. I am at presant getting over a mental breakdown but just listening to Lina helps me get through each day.

Debs, you should be very proud of what you have created hear, its a credit to you and im sure Lina thinks so to. Thank you for giving us the chance to share it with you. Keith C

What a wonderful person and singer Lena is. I say is because I have no doubt she is singing for Our Lord in Heaven.

Very moving piece about Lena included in Saturday's history of Talent Shows TV programme. One of the contributors said she could have been the UK's Judy Garland, and another (or possibly the same one) said she was one of the greatest talents this country had ever produced. It was good to see how much she was loved and admired by some of her show business contemporaries.

It was a great pleasure to watch Lena on The Talent Show Story. I woudn't have watched it otherwise as the rest of them are just plain garbage. How some of them got away with it is beyond me. Lena's dad Victor hit the nail bang on its head when when he mentioned her natural singing ability and summed her up by saying she was "A Lovely Wee Lassie". Well Said!!

Coming from Rothesay Isle of Bute

I know Lena's family. I only remember Lena as a wee girl who left the Island for fame on the mainland. This was one big step for her which many people dont appreciate coming from a small community to venture into the big lights of our cities. Her mum and dad Hilda and Victor like all of us were so proud of her.

Lena however lives on in Rothesay through her cousin Margaret who sings and entertains our many visitors throughout the summer season. Margaret runs a cafe by day selling the best icecream in the UK....Zavaroni's of course and sings by night. I look on her as one of my best friends from the Island. Many stories I cannot share here but Margaret has many stories which reduce us to tears with laughter. There was so much that was good in Lena's life and this is what I want us all to remember.

When I go back home Friday night has to be in the Taverna where Margaret sings. Your will be able to see video's of Margaret singing on Andrews page.

Sadly there are many people out there who have said cruel and vindictive things against Lena's family since Lena's passing. All I say is speak to those who know.

In the Heritage Centre in Rothesay there is a statue in memory of our "wee lass". Go on the Isle of Bute web site to view it. It is the Islands farewell to her. Lena's spirit lives on there (by the way we dont want Margaret to give up on her singing) as long as the name Zavaroni is heard and seen.

Lastly, I now live in Barry South Wales. Lena passed away only ten miles from me in Cardiff. She didnt know it but a little piece of Rothesay was down here for her.

I apologise to everyone who has written to me the last few days, I am trying to catch up after not being well at all, I am still not 100% but hope to answer your emails soon.  I have had a few tonight about putting a page on here with all the nasty emails, screenshots etc on it.  I will not be resorting to this childish behaviour, and will not be using this website to trash Lena's name and memory in this way.  If you wish to see it all, feel free to email me, but to act like a schoolgirl and make a special page on this website to show it all is pretty pathetic.  I hope to feel well enough soon to carry on with the correct running of this website, as it has always been and always will be!

Thank you everyone for your lovely messages.  I received a lovely email from Victor Zavaroni this morning, he said how he enjoyed all of our tributes, and that he said we were all doing a good job keeping Lena's memory alive!  May it long continue!

I was a big fan of Lena's in the 70's, and looking through youtube came across your channel with the wonderful videos of Lena, which then led me to your website. This website is amazing! I met Lena once in the 80's and she was a lovely person, I am sure if she were alive today, she would be so proud of what you have done here, as I am sure Lena's family are. I have listened to the Radio show and 'well done' to you and your friends for taking part each year in the shows, and doing all this hard work to keep Lena's memory alive, thanks to you all, this is what Lena's fans want, so keep up the good work! I think this webite is the 'best' there is!!

Thank you everyone for their comments left here for Lena's birthday, I managed to remember her on this website and FB groups, even though I am busy working and looking after my children, I still would not miss the opportunity to remember her.  Thank you also to everyone involved with the Radio Tribute, it is here to listen to in Lena's Radio Tributes.  Thank you EVERYONE for your continued support, there are so many of you I cannot thank you all individually!!  I love you all!! xxxx:D
