Don't worry Mickey, still fighting now I've got power over all those doctors that tried to put us down. Plus I'm teaching them what is compassion. Your mission you sent me on was big but I'm getting there! But I know you live in me so I know you're still there pushing me on. Love Minnie xxxxxxxxx
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR MESSAGES LEFT ON THIS GUESTBOOK BY OTHER PEOPLE, AND WILL DELETE ANY INAPROPRIATE MESSAGES AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I AM ALSO NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR MESSAGES LEFT ON OTHER LENA ZAVARONI GUESTBOOKS. THANK YOU!!

It is so clear to see who does the hard work on the Lena websites and who doesn't, this is amazing, and I thank you for taking the time to find all of this and put it up, I think it is wonderful!

I hope everyone enjoys the new photos, there are loads more to be added, but obviously I have to find the time, especially with one working computer, and two children fighting with me to use it now they are on their school holidays!!! Bear with me, I will get them up asap, and thanks to Maurice Dale for sending them to me, he has worked very hard to do this for me!
OMG Debs!!! You never cease to amaze. These pics are amazing. Just what I needed to cheer me up. Thank you for all your hard work. Cant wait to see the rest lol
xx
Great work going on here and plenty to spend time with. Thanks for all your time put in here. It is a wonderful place to visit!

Really enjoyed looking at those new pics just now. Been away for a while and catching up with the latest "goings on" etc. I especially like the ones with Lena and her guitar. Keep this great stuff coming!!

Always amazing! Always fantastic! Always a pleasure to visit. The new photos are incredible!
WOW....LOVE the new pix! Keep them coming (PLEASE)!! ;-)

This is the best tribute to Lena ever! NO-ONE will ever come close to this, no matter how hard they try!! This website deserves some sort of award for the hard work put into it and the love and dedication shown, I am speechless!

I worked with Lena at Skegness. It was a show at the theatre on the end of the pier. (destroyed not long after). (1976?)
She was so sweet. We wnet shopping together and she bought a 50p ring. She was SO proud of it. People kept calling out to her in the street she was so loved.
Anyway one of my acts then was illusions. Half way through a trick went badly wrong and I set fire to my arm. Lena was watching from the wings. I could see her jumping up and down saying come off..but having been a child in the business myself..discipline got me through and I finished the last 10 mins.
Leno was on then..they kept introducing her but she wouldn't go on. She was hugging me and laying quickies on my burns. She told her mother to get me to hospital. Eventually her dad practically threw her on stage. Straight after the show she came to A & E.
I will always love and remember her.

Hello Debs,
thank you for commenting on my youtube channel (aka vonFalkenstein77) and thank you so much for this great site with all the beautiful music and information. I´m so glad that I found out about Lenda a couple of weeks ago, she was truly a great singer and I´m especially fond of her early recordings. How on earth could such a young girl sing the songs that way? Never before I´ve heard such a good performance of "Pennies from heaven", I´m not native english-speaking but especially in this song the phrasing sounds phanomenal to me and it outshines all versions of the song I´ve ever heard before. Thanks again for your hard work and the beautiful site. Yours sincerely
Mathias

Thanks Ronald! There are more to come, so keep a look out! xx

I remember seeing Lena on - I think it was The Tonight Show, singing Mama He's Makin' Eyes At Me when she was - maybe 7 years old, I think. I have that first album of hers on vinyl. I happened to run across a video of her singing All That Jazz with Elaine Stritch tonight and found this site. I always wondered what happened to Lena, and I'm sorry to hear she died so young. You're doing a great job here in what can be a very thankless thing called cyberspace. I know from experience. Keep up the good work! One question. In her biography you say she had ill health and died atter an operation. Can you tell me what she actually died from? I'm curious, Thank you! :-)
Actually what she died of was complications from bronchial pneumonia. The operation she'd undergone was a leucotomy, an operation on the brain related to a lobotomy, which, it was hoped, would relieve the depression she'd suffered for many years. Lena was so weak after the surgery that her immune system was not up to task, and that's how the pneumonia took over.

We are supporting you Debs!! Well done in putting up the new Lena clips, and a big thank you to Maurice as well!!
Hi Francis! Yes that is right, although the correct information would be that the fifth time Lena won, she actually tied with another act, and they asked her to step down, as no-one else was getting a chance!! I remember it very well, having watched ALL of Lena's Opportunity Knocks appearances, and remember them saying that, so she would have won more than 5 times, if they had let her!!! - Debs. xx

Hi! Just read on another guestbook that Lena won Opportunity Knocks 5 times, is that right? I thought it was 4. Hoping you can help!

Debs you are so devoted big pat on the back for what you have done, fantastic ann xx![]()
These rare films are brilliant.
Debs, you deserve a medal, for all your hard work. this site is wonderful. xxx
I've just seen the new Lena videos and thoroughly enjoyed watching them both. Lena really looked comfortable behind the scenes.

I would just like to say how much I really enjoyed the small vidoes of Lena. So often we see her on stage and TV. What an absolute delight to see her behind the scenes. Fantastic!

Absolutely LOVE the radio shows page, a bit of nostalgia!! I can't wait to hear more, well done for keeping Lena's memory alive, what a sad, sad shame that Lena's family haven't contributed here. ![]()

Debs your site is fab you must have worked so hard on it
Thanks Debs, Great to be able to enhace my memories of Lena here and on youtube. John
It's a shame none of Lena's original OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS tapes survive so far as is known, they'd be most instructive as to what talent is!
When I looked at the rubbish on Britain's Got Talent (???) this week it served as a reminder to me of what we are sadly missing these days. Had Lena still been here and on any of those so-called talent shows there would have been no contest and only one winner by a country mile.
