For over three years now I have drawn and painted as a hobby, almost daily.  I am mainly self-taught, and have had the good fortune of having had only a few of my pictures sold, through the internet, but have never exhibited them yet.  A few of my pictures hang in Private collections.

 

Whilst I mainly paint Landscapes, Animals, Still Life and, on occassion, Portraits, take up the bulk of my work.  I doodle every moment I can, and am never bored with the journey my art takes me on.  When painting I use mainly Watercolours and Acrylic paints, sometimes Pastels, and even Inks.

 

Having discovered the Lena Zavaroni site, nearly two years ago, I wondered how well I would be able to capture Lena's likeness.  To be honest, it was hit and miss.  I sometimes take my pencil and a sheet of paper and try to do justice to Lena from the many photos Debra has on the site.  I hope I have done well enough to be worthy of praise, and that her many fans can enjoy a more creative viewpoint of her image.  Sometimes using phographic reference with my paintings, I find it allows more time to indulge a picture than the weather here in Britain allows, when painting outdoors.  When I take the time to go into greater detail, I feel the journey's end, with the finished product, can be very rewarding.  Here I have included some quick sketches with the paintings. 

 

When Debra Baker asked me if I would send in one of my paintings to include in her web site I was greatly honoured.  It was a delight to allow her to share with Lena's fans the joy of my journey's destination, but when she later asked me to include any sketches I had made, I rummaged through my old sketchbooks and found these few offerings.

 

I hope you all enjoy them, and I thank Debra for allowing me this opportunity to show Lena's fans some examples of my work.
